Refreshing Your Online Presence: Breathing Life Into Your Brand

If you’re a business owner, online presence can feel like a make or break tool. It can also get a little scary and overwhelming. Not to worry! There are a few easy ways to refresh your online presence and reignite your brand (and business).


Today, we’re diving into three ways to make a big difference in how you and your business show up. (And, if you’re not a business owner, maybe you can find some life hacks in between the lines 😉). Get cozy (or go outside and embrace the sunshine), grab your favorite drink, and get ready for a refresh!


Be Yourself!


Sometimes when we start focusing on how to have better reach online, we start to think about all of the technical things we need to do, what works for other people, viral trends, etc. This can lead to us representing ourselves in a way that’s not quite ‘us.’


The key here is to be yourself. Your audience is going to fall in love with you and your product for your personality and uniqueness. If you decide to look into what’s working for other businesses, find a way to implement that concept in a way that’s true to you. For example, if they have great reach and make a lot of video content, you can try making video content that feels aligned with your personality and brand.


What’s important is making a relationship with your audience. The rest will fall into place as you go. 😉


Dive Into Your Branding!


Maybe you already have a brand for your business, complete with colors and fonts and a moodboard with the energy of your brand. Maybe you’ve even gone the extra mile and done the deeper parts of branding, like crafting your story, defining your messaging, and outlining your ideal audience.


The odds are that even if you’ve done allllll of this work (which, by the way, great job! You’re doing great!), you might not be reviewing your branding regularly. Reviewing your brand can help you breathe new life into your business and your presence because it helps you get an idea of who your audience really is, how your brand may have shifted over time, and how you actually want to show up. (Psst…this also helps you stay authentic!)


Whether you’ve set up branding yet or not, it’s a great idea to explore your identity and see how to make your brand reflect that. Take some time to explore how your story, purpose, vision, and audience might have shifted. How do you need to shift for them? Then, you can have some fun and play with the colors and visuals that feel aligned with you now. Don’t forget to review your tone and messaging in order to make sure everything feels aligned.


Experiment!


It’s mad scientist time! Take some time to explore different types of content and find what works best for you. I know we talked about making sure things feel authentic and tweaking content to have more of your personality, but experimenting with all sorts of different content types can help you find what you really love to do, while opening you up to a whole new world of possibilities!


And don’t forget, there are extra benefits that come with each content type. Blogs can help you come up first on search engines while sharing loads of helpful information. Videos can be entertaining and showcase more of your personality. Email newsletters might feel more personal, like a little community. The possibilities are endless!

Remember, everyone is unique and has things that will work the best for them, so doing a little soul searching and a little experimenting might be just what you need to make a big difference in your presence!
