Holiday Gifting Guide for Celebrating Entrepreneurs
This holiday season, I want to encourage you to think about how you can genuinely celebrate those with the entrepreneurial spirit. Whether it’s finding that perfect, meaningful gift for the entrepreneurs in your life or you, as an entrepreneur, giving or receiving a helpful boost of appreciation, there are so many ways to really make an impact to show support, love, and kindness during this time of yuletide cheer.
Logo Love
Entrepreneurs have a brand, and nowadays branding and logos can show up on all sorts of personalized turnkey merchandise. Think about an item that your favorite entrepreneur would really love or find useful—is it a briefcase, tumbler, coffee mug, journal, portfolio, hoodie, hat, tie, socks? You name it, and it probably can be done. Some great branding companies are available online, but I also encourage you to search for awesome small businesses in your area that specialize in creating personalized items so you can deliver something truly unique and still on brand (oh and support small while doing it!)
Self-Help/Business Development Reads
Many with the entrepreneurial spirit are self-taught and self-made. This bootstrap mentality is one you can encourage in them with a great book. If your giftee is a reader, search around for interesting or useful self-help and business development books that will help them soak up some new tips of the trade that will propel their business even higher and make them feel motivated and loved by your gift!
Subscription Support
One thing most entrepreneurs have to do is pay for an array of professional services and software that give them the tools to do what they do for their business. I know I have a ton of yearly subscriptions I need for my work—common ones include Canva, Zoom, Calendly, Convertkit, FloDesk, Showit, and Squarespace. If even one of those was taken care of for me, that would be fantastic and be something I would be so grateful for! Consider helping your beloved entrepreneur friends by treating them to a month or even a year of a subscription they already use in their work.
Sharing Goes a Long Way
Buying gifts isn’t the only support you can give. It may sound cliché and overdone… but truly just supporting a friend’s business efforts with the power of your recommendation is a huge gift to them. Simply recommend and share with your family, other friends, social contacts, and colleagues what your entrepreneur friend has to offer. This lets others know about the great business or services they provide. Sharing big about small businesses can and does make a difference.
Rally the Troops
Offer your support in another meaningful way by creating a way to “rally” around them for the holiday season. Perhaps help them get involved with the community (e.g., collecting donations for a food drive, donating to a charity on behalf of their business). Your support efforts and the added publicity will not go unnoticed. It may lift your own spirits while you do it too! This can be such a beautiful way to help a business have more reach and more impact in the community.
Let Them Know
If you’re an entrepreneur and you like any of these ideas, share this gifting guidance with your family and friends when they ask you what you’d love for the holidays. You never know what you might find under the tree to help you grow your business or to even just feel a little more supported in your endeavors!
